I bought 2 of these for my backyard and absolutely loved them. They look great, provide excellent shade, rain weighs them down a little, but it runs right through. I thought I had posted a glowing review after I put them up, but I couldn't find it...whoops! The problem is, they just don't last in the Texas heat. I bought them on June 25 2019 and the first one ripped at the end of summer 2020. The second one ripped in January 2021, so neither one made it 2 years. I remembered them having a warranty, but besides it being stated in the listing, I couldn't find anything else like contact information. I finally did find a phone number and email on their website, so I sent an email and was told they only warranty the workmanship, not rips. I think I am going to try again with beige instead of brown to see if that handles the heat better and purchase the protection plan from Allstate and see how that goes. I was looking at the heavier duty versions with steel cable, but if it's the middle shade area that rips and it's not much thicker than this one, then it doesn't probably matter if the perimeter is stronger? Here is the email I received from them:Hello dear customer,Thanks for contacting us.Our policy warrants against manufacture defects, such as improper stitching, faulty grommets or premature fraying or deterioration of the fabric. It's light and provides good coverage for the deck and has held up well to the sun and rain.As others have stated, this is a custom order and it will take 4 - 5 weeks to receive it if you don't order a Prime size/color. The manufacturer was very helpful and quick when I inquired about my delivery status.Once it arrived, it hooked up with no issues and seems to be very durable material. I haven't had any issues with water retention and nothing has torn in storms.I ordered the shade 1' smaller all the way around from what I measured and that fit my area from tip to tip with zero need to use the supplied ropes; I simply bought additional clasps and clipped it on to the supplied mounting kit.My only complaint is that with the curved sides, you get slightly less shade than if it was straight, but it's worth the trade off to have the extra strength. I have this stretching from my house to pergola, and it covers my patio table on my deck, which is why the reduced shade is a concern.Overall, I recommend the product. As described. This was a reorder or buy again item. Totally different from first item with eyelets on the side and seemed a bit longer than replacement even though i ordered same size. The hardware received was much better than pictured. I originally thought when I bought it that I would be buying different hardware, but it came in with a happy surprise, excellent hardware. Now for the actual fabric, it is perfect. Highly recommend this product. We bought this to replace another (cheaper) sun shade that faded almost immediately and was ripped to shreds during a desert wind storm. This sun shade is not showing any signs of fading and I am sure this one will stand up the 65mph winds we get occasionally.I bought this shade sale thinking that it would be the same or similar to the one (different brand) that I previously purchased and loved. It is nowhere near as nice as the other one I bought. The quality seems fair, but the color is not at all red-it is a true orange. Additionally, the kit did not come with any hardware which I had to go buy myself. I didn't mind that so much, but once I install the hardware and stretched it out, it is nowhere near 8 x 8 like I ordered. It is closer to 9 x 9 which will in no way fit the space that I ordered it for. Now, had I not had such a great experience and a great result with a different brand, I may have simply thought that I measured wrong. But since my previous one went up without a hitch-and included all of the hardware-I have to assume that it's not me but the way that this product is cut.The sun shade was huge and a great concept. The problem was it was so big it is hard to get it tight enough with just the 4 eye holes to not droop in the middle. Every time the wind would blow it would droop down and hit everyone in the head. Suggestion would be when it is this size to add eye holes in the middle also.
